Most awaited Damodara Month (Karthik) is here (October 17th to November 14th, 2024). GitaWise is conducting several activities to engage our time in Krishna Conscious activities during this most auspicious month.

This year, we’re adding a fun twist—everything is DIGITAL, so you can learn from the comfort of your home. 🏡💻 

✨ How to Participate:

• 🎤 Sing the Damodara Aarti: Submit a video of yourself or your family singing. (Lyrics - Damodarastakam)

• OR 📖 Share Krishna Katha: Record a beautiful story about Krishna's past-times.

• OR 💖 Do both —because the more, the merrier! 😊

Damodara is another name for Lord Krishna, Dama means “rope”, and Udara means “belly”, So Damodara means “one who is bound around the belly with ropes”. One of the most important spiritual activities performed in the holy month of Kartik is offering a ghee lamp to Lord Damodara. There are wonderful results you get by offering a lamp to Lord Damodara in the month of Kartik among those few of them are: If one offers a lamp, his sins of millions of births perish in half an eye-blink. If one is offering the lamp with love and affection, then he will not take birth again in this world.
